White Plains, NY – Christian Falkenberg was promoted to show director for the New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF), replacing Dorothy Belshaw who left to become president of the Gift division for International Market Centers of Las Vegas and High Point, NC.  Falkenberg has been a vice president of GLM and show manager of the NYIGF since 2008. His new role puts him in charge of strategic development for the show as well as sales and operations. He will report to GLM CEO Charles McCurdy.

“Christian has played a key role in the fair’s evolution,” said McCurdy. “Given his deep experience within the gift and home industry, and the NYIGF specifically, the fair’s growth and success will thrive under his guidance.”

The NYIGF is held twice a year in New York City. The August edition was ranked #20 on the most recent Trade Show Executive Gold 100 roster of largest U.S. trade shows with 533,841 net square feet (nsf) in 2010. The January show was ranked 21st with 521,642 nsf.

GLM was acquired by McCurdy and a private equity group in August.
