Los Angeles – Howard Friedman has joined VNU Expositions as Group Show Director of the ASD/AMD Merchandise Group, announced Sam Bundy, Group President. Friedman has an extensive background in trade shows and marketing. He was a marketing and business development consultant; a Vice President at Reed Exhibitions, responsible for shows in the manufacturing, packaging, beverage and hospitality industries; and managed product and brand development with major financial institutions, Quaker Oats and Procter & Gamble. Friedman earned an MBA from Northwestern University and a B.S. in business administration from the University of California – Berkeley.
Friedman will be responsible for the ASD/AMD Las Vegas Show’s discount component at the Las Vegas Convention Center; the ASD/AMD Jewelry component at the Mirage Hotel; the Variety Merchandise Show in Atlanta, Atlantic City and Houston; as well as the group’s show directories and preview guides.
“Howard’s depth and diversity of experience in all aspects of show marketing, development, sales and management is a tremendous asset to the ASD/AMD Merchandise Group,” said Bundy. Friedman, who relocated to Los Angeles for the position, told Trade Show Executive magazine that he looks forward to defining new areas that will drive profitable growth for VNU Expositions.
