United Service Companies Names David Giamichael New COO, D’Angelo Promoted to Senior VP

Chicago, IL – David Giamichael, a long-time executive in facility management services, was named chief operating officer of United Service Companies, and Anthony D’Angelo, a former executive with the FBI and Joint Terrorism Force, has been promoted to senior vice president & director of corporate compliance, announced Richard Simon, president & CEO of United Service Companies, Chicago.

Giamichael was most recently executive vice president and general manager of DTZ, a facilities management services company formerly known as UNICCO, with more than 17,000 employees in North America. During his tenure with DTZ/UNICCO, he played an integral role in growing the business from $27 million to more than $1 billion in revenue by focusing on account retention, customer service and a coordinated business development and marketing approach.

Giamichael was hired after a nationwide search and will have responsibility for the day-to-day operations of United Service Companies. Founded in 1965, United comprises five divisions, including U.S. Aviation, United Maintenance, United National Maintenance, United Security and United Temps.  The company, which employs over 5,000 people, is a nationwide provider of cleaning, security and temp services to the exhibition industry as well as airlines, hotels, convention centers, sports venues, office buildings and hospitals. United is the parent company of Trade Show Executive.

Simon also announced the promotion of Anthony D’Angelo to senior vice president & director of corporate compliance. D’Angelo, a retired FBI agent, oversaw complex financial investigations, among other duties. He also served as the supervising agent for the Joint Terrorism Task Force. He joined United Service Companies in 2008 as vice president of security and director of corporate governance for the United Security Service division.

In his expanded role with the company, D’Angelo will develop client opportunities both nationally and internationally as well oversee the corporate governance and compliance of United Service Companies.
