UBM Merges EE Times and Canon Electronics Properties into New Firm

San Francisco, CA – UBM began integrating its newly acquired Canon Communications properties into its existing portfolio by forming UBM Electronics, a new company serving the electronics sector. The new company has 10 publication and web titles as well as events including Designcom, the Embedded Systems Conferences and the ARM Technology Conference. Together, they reach more than 2.2 million engineering professionals.

David Blaza, formerly vice president of events for EE Times, was named president of UBM Electronics. Ron Wall, senior vice president of UBM Canon, will head up UBM Canon’s publishing operations. Both report to Paul Miller, CEO of UBM Electronics and UBM Canon Publishing Group.

“The Canon electronics portfolio is a terrific fit with the EE Times Group portfolio,” said Miller. He said the tremendous strength of the brands will be an asset in  introducing innovative solutions in print, online and events.
