TSE STAFF

New York— UBM Americas has named David Kaye to the newly created position of Americas Sales Leader. Kaye will oversee event sales strategy and explore opportunities for growth at UBM’s trade shows, exhibitions and conferences. He will report to Scott Schulman, CEO of UBM Americas.

Kaye was previously Chief Revenue Officer for the Americas at The Economist, where he also created The Economist Career Network. In a release announcing his appointment, Schulman said Kaye will be charged with developing new revenue streams, building growth plans and identifying cross-business opportunities in an effort to develop “new ways to serve customers who want to reach our high-quality attendees.”

UBM Americas is the largest show organizer in the U.S. with responsibility for 200+ events nationwide. It was named the No. 1 Event Company to Watch by Trade Show Executive last year. Its holdings include more than two dozen fashion events like WWD Magic, WSA Magic and STITCH. UBM Americas also stages shows in the manufacturing, technology, pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors that include the Licensing Expo, Medical Design & Manufacturing, and Interop ITX. Last fall UBM Americas acquired the Battery Show NA along with its co-located events.
