LONDON — The Battery Show Europe is officially part of the UBM portfolio, the company announced July 5. Now part of Informa after a recent merger, UBM also acquired the co-located Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Expo Europe from U.K.-based Smarter Shows.
The Battery Show Europe bills itself as “Europe’s fastest growing and most innovative industry event” — one that features scores of expert speakers from a variety of industries ranging from automotive OEMs to research organizations. Industries that gather to learn about new manufacturing solutions include automotive, utilities, renewable energy, grid, power tools and electronics.
According to UBM EMEA CEO Lucy Dimes, acquiring The Battery Show fits with UBM’s focus on high-growth investments and enables UBM to provide its customers with “expanded access to cutting-edge manufacturing, battery supply chain technologies and solutions and opportunities to establish new business connections at a global scale.”
Lori Silva, Managing Director of Advanced Manufacturing Group, UBM Americas, said UBM’s purchase of The Battery Show “further establishes the company in a space with tremendous opportunity. This is an exciting vertical for UBM and complements our existing presence in renewable and energy-related markets, including MIREC, AIREC, Renewable Energy India Expo, our renewable energy event series in Southeast Asia and of course The Battery Show North America.”
The Battery Show Europe’s 2019 edition is scheduled for May 7-9 in Stuttgart, Germany.
