Chicago – The two leading providers of photographic services to the trade show industry, Oscar & Associates, Inc. and Einzig Photographers, announced that they have merged. The new company is named Oscar/Einzig Photography. Beginning this week, Einzig’s New York facility is relocating its operations, customer support and all fulfillment to Oscar’s Chicago headquarters.
The new company is owned by Stan Einzig, founder of Einzig Photographers, and Mark Bailey and Jon Ryan, owners of Oscar and Associates. Bailey describes the merger as being completely equal. “On paper we both had about 200 shows per year and our balance sheets were very close,” he says.
Bailey says the merger is something the two companies have been discussing for several years. “The benefit to our clients is that together our companies will be able to make a greater investment in the new technologies that are changing our industry,” he says.
Einzig says the merger is a means of cutting overhead to overcome the industry downturn. “Consolidating our operations and production facility will increase cost efficiency,” he says. He also cites exhibitors’ use of their own digital photography as a factor affecting the revenue streams of both companies.
Bailey and Ryan will be responsible for day-to-day operations while Einzig will continue to take photographs and manage the photography of many of the larger shows. Dave Einzig will develop new products and services which will be sold through Oscar/Einzig Photography.
