TSE to Unveil Gold 100 Shows on May 6

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

Oceanside, CA – The annual unveiling of the biggest and best trade shows in the U.S. will be released by Trade Show Executive on Friday, May 6, giving the organizers of the leading exhibitions plenty of time to make their flight plans for the fourth annual TSE Gold 100 Awards & Summit  September 21-23. This year, the event moves to The Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay, an easy 25-mile drive southwest of the San Francisco International Airport.

The seaside venue will host the top show organizers in the U.S. for a few days packed with networking opportunities, a golf tournament on the hotel’s scenic Ocean Course – sponsored again by the Atlantic City Convention and Visitors Authority — and a full day of education sessions featuring a lineup of industry leaders and outside experts.

UBM’s David Levin Takes Center Stage
David Levin, CEO of United Business Media (UBM), will be in the spotlight at Bob Dallmeyer’s Power Lunch session, a live version of TSE’s monthly interview with industry visionaries. Levin joined UBM in 2005 and has led the worldwide media firm through the recession and into an ambitious expansion stage. UBM committed $287 million last year for the blockbuster acquisition of Canon Communications LLC.  And although UBM’s print revenues continue to struggle with a drop of (13.0)% in the First Quarter of 2011, year-over-year revenue for UBM’s event division jumped 16% to £84 million (about $139  million) and adjusted operating profit surged 68% to £28 million (about $46 million). Hear firsthand about Levin’s gutsy moves and future plans as he continues to make UBM one of the most-watched and talked-about global companies in the trade show industry today.

What’s in Your Wallet?
A new research study on executive compensation trends for 2012  is underway and will be released by Exhibit Surveys, Inc. and Trade Show Executive at the Gold 100 Summit.  New ways to compensate and motivate high achievers will be the focus of this presentation by Skip Cox, president and CEO of Exhibit Surveys; Darlene Gudea, president of Trade Show Executive Media Group; and Danica Tormohlen, contributing editor of Trade Show Executive.

The high quality of the program and the elegant setting has made the Gold 100 Awards & Summit an annual highlight for the trade show industry. The main event of the week will be the annual Gold 100 Gala during which the event’s top sponsors will present TSE’s Grand Awards to the organizers of the trade shows that set the Gold Standard for the exhibition industry.

Registration opens May 6.
