The Board of Directors of the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. has announced the appointment of Jens Thraenhart as Chief Executive Officer, effective November 1 2021. Thraenhart has spent 26 years in the tourism industry gaining leadership experience from North America to Asia, most recently serving as Executive Director of the Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office appointed by the six member governments in Southeast Asia for four consecutive 2-year terms. In this role, he created the private-sector tourism board Destination Mekong to foster public-private partnership collaboration. In his new role with BTMI, Thraenhart will help shape the way forward in emerging from this period of the pandemic as a stronger, high-performing destination marketing company.
