In addition to providing venue listings, the 2025 edition tracks active construction at 16 new properties, a small yet noteworthy increase over the 14 new buildings in progress TSE detailed in the 2024 edition.
Economic factors have placed a strain on travel in the near term. One of the more up-to-date measures of this can be seen in the Q3 results reported by Hilton on October 22nd, which reflected a 1.1% decline in revenue per available room compared with Q3 2024. Likewise, CoStar’s September 2025 data reflects a 12.3% decrease in volume of U.S. hotel rooms in active construction year over year.
However, the uptick, albeit small, in construction of hotels near convention centers and hotel/convention center complexes suggests a positive long-term outlook for trade shows and the facilities that support them, despite economic uncertainties clouding the present.

Of the 16 construction projects found in this year’s report, two of them are expected to debut in late 2025: the Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel in Florida and the Hotel Meta in New York.
Attached to the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center, the Omni property will feature 801 guest rooms and 45,866 square feet (sf) of prime exhibit space, 24,113 sf of meeting space and 30,870 sf of flex space. The Hotel Meta will offer 379 rooms across from the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

Next year there will be no shortage of hotel openings, with four scheduled for 2026.
Across from San Antonio’s Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, The Monarch San Antonio – Curio Collection by Hilton will open in March and add 200 rooms to the local inventory.
The Majestic Las Vegas is planning to unveil 720 rooms in the fall and will be across from the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The Kalahari Resorts & Conventions Spotsylvania is a new all-in-one complex that will feature 907 rooms as well as 20,936 sf of meeting space and 48,312 sf of flex space when it opens in November in Woodford, Va.
The Indiana Convention Center & Lucas Oil Stadium will also have new accommodations in late 2026, when the skywalk-connected Signia by Hilton Indianapolis opens with 800 rooms.
