Santa Monica, CA – Advanstar Communications, Inc. named Tracy Harris senior vice president of its Powersports Division, an area she has had experience in for several years.
The new position brings Harris, an Advanstar veteran with 25 years experience in the motorcycle industry, back to the Powersports Division after two years in which she was vice president of expos and worked with other Advanstar properties, including the licensing, fashion and pop culture units.
She replaced Danny Phillips, who had been executive vice president of the Powersports division. Phillips will now be concentrating on international sales and acquisition integration for the entire company.
“As we continue to expand our level of commitment to the powersports industry, Tracy’s appointment aligns our leadership team more strategically with the needs of our core business and growth initiatives,” said Joe Loggia, Advanstar’s CEO.
Harris was given the job, which reports to Powersports Group President Chris DeMoulin, after she spent January on a fact-finding mission to the group’s customers to solicit their views on the future of the group shows, including Dealernews International Powersports Dealer Expo, and the 13-city Progressive International Motorcycle Shows tour.
