WASHINGTON – Spring has arrived and it’s time for the trade show industry to nail down plans to take part in the annual Exhibitions Day caravan to Capitol Hill in Washington.
Registration for the June 4-5 lobbying expedition to the halls of Congress is open at http://www.exhibitionsday.org/. The trip includes a welcome reception and orientation on the 4th with groups of show organizers and industry partners fanning out on the Hill. The following day they will visit congressional offices to urge members of Congress to support various issues effecting the industry.
More than 100 volunteers took part in last year’s Exhibitions Day and industry backing for the event remains high. Trade Show Executive (TSE) is the Title Sponsor of the event and parent company United Service Companies is among the deep roster of sponsors.
“Although there will be plenty of time for networking and catching up with colleagues from across the country, Exhibitions Day is serious business,” said TSE Publisher and Editor, Gabrielle Weiss. “There are issues in front of Congress and federal agencies that have a direct impact on trade shows.”

There will be plenty to talk about when the trade show industry meets Congress in Washington this summer. This year’s lobbying agenda includes online booking scams, safety and security, international travel and Infrastructure.
Exhibitions Day delegates won’t be heading up to the Capitol empty handed. They’ll be armed with facts on the economic benefits that trade shows and conventions bring to lawmakers’ districts and how these coveted events benefit the voters back home.
