Think Bigger with PCMA at its 2024 Convening Leaders

CHICAGO — Convening Leaders 2024, the Professional Convention Management Association’s (PCMA) annual conference, will challenge participants to “Think Bigger.” From Jan. 7-10, 2024, PCMA Convening Leaders 2024 will be held at the San Diego Convention Center

The event will help brands, communities and organizations connect people with ideas and opportunities, and San Diego’s entrepreneurial spirit, cultural diversity, innovative research and wellness benefits will be showcased. 

Speakers include President Bill Clinton and 67th Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, who will open day two of the conference. They will be in conversation with Holly Ransom, the event’s host, during the morning general session exploring leadership, international relations, the global economy, and the importance of meetings and events for the free exchange of ideas and democracy.

I am absolutely delighted to welcome President Clinton and Secretary Clinton with a platform to share their reflections on pivotal moments in history, discuss pressing global challenges, and illustrate the path toward an inclusive, sustainable future for all,” said Karamat.

Other speakers include Mayim Bialik, Jeopardy! host, neuroscientist, actress and acclaimed author. She will speak on mental health in a talk titled More Than a Luxury — Why the Path to Professional Fulfillment Starts with Your Mental Health, which will combine her experience and academic knowledge. An AI expert, Nina Schick, will present a keynote session on the benefits and risks AI poses and how the technology will change the human experience, and will be joined by Mo Gawdat, Former Chief Business Officer at Google [X].

Claus Raasted, Director of The College of Extraordinary Experiences and External Advisor at McKinsey, is another featured speaker, who will be in a breakout session. Tommy Goodwin, Vice President at the Exhibitions and Conferences Alliance, will also speak during a breakout session at the event, covering how to navigate potential calls to boycott a destination.

Not only will there be general sessions but engaging educational tracks and networking experiences as well, including a golf outing, charitable parties and receptions, and different fitness activities.

The San Diego Tourism Authority (SDTA) is pulling out all the stops for this gathering. The opening reception will be held in custom-built areas in SeaWorld, representative of all the city has to offer. Tuesday’s Networking Reception will feature the ‘90s R&B band Boyz II Men outdoors at the San Diego Bay.
