ORLANDO, Fla. — The IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions), the global association for the attractions industry, is expanding its offerings in the Middle East by holding a new in-person trade summit in Saudi Arabia.

The IAAPA is partnering with the General Entertainment Authority to support and organize the first-ever IAAPA Middle East Trade Summit. The event is an exclusive partnership with the General Entertainment Authority.

“The Middle East is an important region and IAAPA is looking to build more relationships there while growing our membership,” Vice President and Executive Director of IAAPA Europe, Middle East, Africa Peter van der Schans said. “Saudi Arabia is in the midst of a boom in the attractions industry, and we are ready to support leaders there in achieving their goals.”

Attendees of the event can take advantage of the full summit agenda that includes access to the Trade Connections Area, educational sessions, networking events and EDUTours. Attendees can choose from multiple registration options that offer different levels of access to the events and educational sessions throughout the show.

The new trade show will provide opportunities for networking with local stakeholders, an educational program and learning about the requirements to do business in the region. There will be sessions and panel discussions about trends, challenges, developments and safety among other topics in the leisure and entertainment industries.

More than 30 international speakers from companies including Disneyland Paris and Six Flags Qiddiya are slated to speak at the new event. The speakers are experienced industry professionals who will be participating in the educational sessions to share their insights on the most pressing topics for the attractions industry.

For up-and-coming professionals in the attractions industry, there will be a professional development program for those who joined the industry less than five years ago. The Institute for Attractions Managers is designed to give participants a global perspective on attractions, learn about all the areas of operations and share best practices across companies.

The IAAPA Middle East Trade Summit will be held March 7-8, 2023 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
