AUSTIN — Not long after being recognized for its high growth at the 2026 Trade Show Executive Fastest 50 Awards & Summit, the Texas Restaurant Association’s Texas Restaurant Show will integrate the Texas Bar & Nightclub Convention starting with its 2026 edition, which is set for July 12-13 at the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio.

According to Tony Abruscato, the Texas Restaurant Association’s Chief Marketing Officer, this move positions the event as the most comprehensive hospitality trade show in the Southwest.

“We saw a clear opportunity to bring two highly aligned audiences together under one roof,” Abruscato said. “The lines between restaurants, bars and nightlife have blurred. Operators are thinking holistically about food, beverage and experience. By bringing the Texas Bar and Nightclub Convention into the Texas Restaurant Show, we’re creating a more complete platform that reflects how the industry actually operates today.”

In the Action

The convention will become a Bar and Nightclub Showcase on the Texas Restaurant Show floor.

“It’s not a separate event or tucked away section. It sits in the middle of the action and is designed to drive movement, energy and cross traffic throughout the entire show. Attendees move seamlessly between categories, which increases visibility and engagement for all exhibitors,” Abruscato explained.

A Perfect Fit

This integration will benefit both events, driving value for everyone at the table.

Restaurant operators will get deeper exposure to beverage innovation and nightlife trends, and bar and nightclub operators will have access to food, technology and operational solutions that drive growth.

Exhibitors will benefit from increased traffic, stronger buyer diversity and more opportunities to engage decision-makers who are actively investing in their businesses.

“This is about increasing relevance, scale and ROI for everyone involved,” Abruscato said. “It also creates real efficiencies. Instead of supporting two separate events, this is two shows in one weekend, with one trip, one ticket and one booth. That means reduced travel, reduced operational costs and access to 8,000 qualified attendees in a single, high-impact environment.”

Looking Ahead

The association is focused on building the most influential and comprehensive hospitality platform in the region.

“This is just the beginning,” Abruscato added. “Our focus is on building the most influential and comprehensive hospitality platform in the region. We’re going to continue expanding the audience, deepening partnerships and creating more ways for brands and operators to connect, learn and do business. The goal is simple: stay at the forefront and deliver real value to the industry.

“At the end of the day, this is about helping the industry grow. When you bring the right people together in the right environment, you create momentum. That’s exactly what we’re building with the Texas Restaurant Show.”

The Big Picture

TSE is following a number of stories and announcements of shows merging or co-locating to drive higher value for participants. Examples of this trend in 2026 include: AVIXA integrating Lightapalooza with InfoCommBe+Well | Beauty & Wellness Show bringing together the International Beauty Show and the International Esthetics, Cosmetics & Spa Conference and three specialized gatherings of tech professionals combining to form InnovateEnergy Week.
