SMG Announces Allyson Jackson Will Move from Salt Lake City to Jekyll Island

DANICA TORMOHLEN, EDITOR-AT-LARGE

Salt Lake City, UT – After overseeing the management and operation of Salt Lake City’s Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center and South Towne Exposition Center for the last 13 years, Allyson Jackson, regional general manager for SMG, is moving to Georgia’s Jekyll Island Convention Center, also managed by SMG.

“The decision to move back to Georgia was difficult and is genuinely bittersweet,” said Jackson. “The opportunity to return to my home town, close to my family, while also remaining with SMG, is just something I need to do at this time.”

During her tenure in Salt Lake, Jackson oversaw community relations during the 1999 Salt Palace expansion; launched the sales and marketing efforts for the South Towne Exposition Center, completed in 2000; and was project liaison for the second expansion of the Salt Palace, completed in 2006.

SMG, a leading venue management firm, is currently searching for Jackson’s replacement.
