SINGAPORE—The inaugural edition of transport logistic Southeast Asia, organized by Messe München, will bring together the major players in global supply chains in Singapore. Taking place Nov. 1-3, 2023, the new show is poised to become the most influential event for logistics, mobility, IT and supply chain management in Southeast Asia, with attending companies including DP World, Dubai South, DHL, dnata, Changi Airport and Etihad.

Transport logistic Southeast Asia is based on its mother exhibition in Munich and will benefit from the global network of Messe München to bring together the world’s leading service providers to meet, network and trade with top buyers from the region. It will also feature speakers on the industry’s leading trends and topics.

The timing of the show aligns with developments in the industry, as established trade routes have been increasingly shifting in the wake of global crises and with the Southeast Asian region — already home to leading hubs — likely to become even more pivotal in the future. With Singapore having historically been a major hub for trade to and from Asia, many of the world’s logistics service providers already have their branches and regional headquarters there. In addition, many shipping companies that have a presence in the ASEAN region or throughout Asia are also present in Singapore.

As a result, the show has garnered a great deal of interest, already taking up two halls at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre and expecting to add a third, according to Michael Wilton, CEO of MMI Asia, the regional subsidiary of Messe München. The show is expected to use 107,639 square feet of space.

The logistics industry plays an important part in corporate growth, Wilton recently said during a radio interview, and is key to overall economic recovery in Singapore and the region. “We’re expecting over 100 suppliers of either products or services to be presenting or showcasing their expertise and their solutions to the industry. This is going to help businesses here in Southeast Asia and in Singapore be able to grow and to develop their distribution networks and their supply chains, and to enable a bounce back after a difficult two years.”

Organizer Messe München is the force behind other leading events for the transport logistics and air cargo industry in Mumbai, Shanghai, Istanbul, Johannesburg and Miami, in addition to the Munich event.
