CHICAGO — Restaurant Events, LLC, a new trade show management company, purchased three restaurant and food service trade shows from Clarion Events. The International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York, Florida Restaurant & Lodging Show and the Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo will now be managed by Restaurant Events. The specifics of the deal were not disclosed.

Amidst the challenges of the past few years, so many restaurants and food service industry companies showed extraordinary resilience and nimbleness. We are honored to have this opportunity and look forward to working closely with this community to build great events.”

The new management company was started by Partners Tim von Gal and Doug Miller, two industry veterans who are familiar with the foodservice industry and the shows their company purchased. Previously, the two were Managing Partners of Urban Expositions. In 2014, while with Urban Expositions, the two purchased the same three shows from RX (then Reed Exhibitions), and then sold them to Clarion Events in 2016. The two then sold Urban Expositions to Clarion Events in 2018 and went on to form Restaurant Events.
Accompanying the purchased shows are team members from Clarion Events to help keep consistency for operations, marketing, sales and content development.
“We plan to continue to communicate with our customers and the associations to find and provide resources they want to see at the shows,” Miller said. “These conversations will help to create the path forward for future success in serving the industry. Exhibitors and attendees will see a high level of customer service and comprehensive marketing support to make their experience enjoyable and productive.”
The International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York will take place March 3-5, 2024, at the Javits Center; Florida Restaurant & Lodging Show Nov. 8-9, 2023, at the Orange County Convention Center; and the Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo is slated for Aug. 6-8, 2023, at the Anaheim Convention Center.
