Richmond, Surrey, UK – Reed Exhibitions has confirmed to Exhibition WorldTrade Show Executive’s global media partner, that its CEO Alastair Gornall has left the company. Gornall, a 25-year exhibition industry veteran, joined Reed in September 2004, having made a name for himself in the PR and marketing industry. His responsibilities will be assumed by Andrew Fowles, a member of the Worldwide Board of Reed Exhibitions for the past 13 years. Fowles will also continue to be responsible for Reed Exhibition’s businesses in Germany, Austria and Russia.

In a statement from Reed, Gornall, an ambassador for the recently launched exhibition industry social media network Facetime, said the decision to leave was his own. “It was over five years ago that I became CEO of Reed Exhibitions UK and since then I am very proud of what we have collectively achieved. It is a wonderful business with great shows, people and reputation.”

“The decision to leave is entirely mine and down to the fact that I want to do something different with the next stage of my career. I am delighted that Andrew Fowles has been chosen to replace me.” he said. Fowles said: “I know that Reed Exhibitions UK is an extremely good business and I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with the UK team and to take the business forward.”
