Sao Paulo, Brazil – Reed Exhibitions has created a new position, vice president for business development in Latin America, and also named a new president for its growing operations in Brazil.

Juan Pablo De Vera was promoted to the newly created position of Senior Vice President of Business Development for Latin America. He had been President of Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado, which oversees a show portfolio of 30 brands in Brazil.

Fernando Fischer, who has an extensive resume as a corporate executive in Brazil, was hired to replace De Vera as President of the division.

“I am pleased to have such talented leaders for these vital positions in Latin America,” said Herve Sedky, President of Reed Exhibitions Americas. “Juan Pablo’s experience and recognition throughout the trade show industry, plus his terrific results in leading the business in Brazil, perfectly match Fernando’s approach as a client-driven brand builder.”

De Vera joined Reed nearly 20 years ago and will take what Sedky called a “proactive” approach to ferreting out opportunities for revenue growth and expansion, including mergers and acquisitions. Reed’s solid foothold in Brazil is seen as a base for strategic partnerships and other moves in the Latin America region.

“The evolution of the worldwide trade show business to an evolving landscape full of new possibilities, combined with Brazil’s current challenging environment, demand a flexible and multi-faceted way of doing business,” Sedky said.
