Santos, Brazil – Reed Exhibitions Brazil added the Santos Offshore Oil & Gas Expo to its portfolio of energy events.
Details of the acquisition between Reed and AGS3 Promocoes e Eventos LTDA were not disclosed; however the deal gives Reed a new presence in a key city in the South American energy market.
“We will strive to make Santos Offshore a special part of our global energy portfolio, helping customers from around the world to discover a new market in Santos,” said Juan Pablo de Vera, president of Reed Exhibitions Brazil.
Santos is a port city that serves as a base for the development of Brazil’s huge Santos Basin oil-and-gas reserves.
Santos Offshore Oil & Gas Expo was launched in 2007 and has reported 20% growth in the last two years. The October edition is expected to draw 18,000 attendees and feature 7,000 net square meters (about 75,347 net square feet) of exhibit space.
De Vera said Reed would continue to work with the show’s partner, the Brazilian Institute of Petroleum, to enhance the content portion of the event.
Santos Offshore will be added to Reed’s Brazilian portfolio of five energy-related events. Reed organizes 16 trade shows for the upstream and renewable energy sectors.
