Questex’s Kerry Gumas to Join Fastest 50 Crowd in Power Lunch Interview with Bob Dallmeyer


Oceanside, CA – Kerry Gumas, president and CEO of Questex Media Group LLC, will be the guest of honor at the Power Lunch segment of Trade Show Executive’(TSEFastest 50 Awards & Summit May 8-10 in Chicago.

Gumas has been a charismatic leader in the trade show industry for nearly 30 years and will share his experiences and strategies over lunch in an exclusive on-stage interview with TSE columnist Bob Dallmeyer and the Fastest 50 attendees at the Swissôtel in downtown Chicago May on May 9.

The Fastest 50 Awards & Summit will honor the select group of organizers behind the 50 shows that had the highest growth rates in the U.S. in three metrics – exhibit space, exhibitors and attendance. With some shows achieving fast growth in multiple metrics, a total of 91 unique shows will be honored. The event takes place May 8-10 and culminates with the awards gala.

Gumas has seen plenty of growth during his career. He joined the trade show industry with Reed Exhibitions and amassed years of experience in U.S. and international exhibitions as well as mergers, acquisitions and other corporate responsibilities.

He moved on to become president of the World Expo division of the $1 billion company IDG and later became head of Advanstar Communications’ Technology Group.

Gumas took over at Questex in 2005 and oversees a portfolio of 45 exhibitions and conferences in the technology space plus dozens of print and digital publications. In addition, Questex is also the parent company of McLean Events International, which organizes appointment-only events in Europe. He is a presently the chairman of SISO, the Society of Independent Show Organizers.

The Fastest 50 is known as a top-tier networking and idea-swapping event for trade show leaders who have guided record-breaking growth for their events, often 10 times the benchmark.  It is also the event where co-locations, joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions and other growth strategies are explored discreetly.
