Polito, Hardcastle Acquire Marketing Design Group

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

San Diego, CA – Vincent Polito, president of VP International, and Kimberly Hardcastle, the new president of Marketing Design Group (MDG), said they are positioning the San Diego trade show marketing firm for an increased presence on the East Coast.

Polito and Hardcastle purchased MDG in October and will continue a productive working relationship between MDG and VP International that Polito said set the stage for a new growth spurt. “I have been impressed with MDG’s work for many years,” said Polito, who counts MDG as its marketing agency of record for several VP International clients. “I think the potential is unlimited.”

Hardcastle, who had been executive vice president of MDG, said the Southern California agency had been “under the radar” for some time. The firm has developed a solid foundation in digital marketing, an area of expertise she said was increasing in demand. “Over the past few years, our fusion of strategy, creativity and technology has become more weighted to the technology end,” she said. “There is a growing emphasis with MDG on identifying, delivering and managing new digital solutions that enhance audience engagement throughout the show cycle.”

Marketing is one of several services VP International provides for its show organizer clients.  The firm is located in Connecticut.

Hardcastle has been an active participant in trade show industry associations, including the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE). Polito is a past chairman of IAEE.

Denise Paccione, founder and president of MDG, will remain with the company as chief creative officer.
