Penton to Manage NPA’s Natural MarketPlace

Washington, DC – Penton Media, Inc. acquired some of the assets of the Natural MarketPlace, the annual trade show of the Natural Products Association (NPA), and will manage the show in partnership with NPA.

Penton and the NPA announced April 3 that the pact was aimed at expanding the size of Natural MarketPlace in order to preserve its appeal and keep costs down for the NPA membership.  “A factor in this decision was how to keep membership dues at a minimum while keeping our quality of service at a premium, and a growing trade show is key to that equation,” said David Seckman, NPA executive director and CEO. “We are convinced that this arrangement will offer us the best return on our investment and give us the resources we need to keep the Natural Products Association as the industry leader.”

Terms of the agreement were not released nor were details about the assets Penton acquired. Penton currently produces other events in the natural products industry through its New Hope Media division, including Natural Products Expo West, Natural Products Expo East, Natural Products Expo Asia and The Organic Summit.

Natural MarketPlace is in its 71st year and this year will be held July 17-19 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas. The NPA said the show generally draws around 7,500 attendees and more than 450 exhibitors displaying a range of dietary supplements, organic products, health-and-beauty aids, and pet products.
