PCCA Issues RFP for Management of Pennsylvania Convention Center

Philadelphia, PA – An invitation was issued by the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority (PCCA) seeking RFPs from venue management companies interested in managing the Philadelphia venue.

The newly expanded center has 670,000 square feet of prime exhibit space and is ranked 20th on the Trade Show Executive World’s Top Convention Centers list.

Philadelphia becomes the latest major city to seek private  management for its convention center. Los Angeles is evaluating at least two responses to its recent RFP, from SMG and Anschutz Entertainment. SMG manages McCormick Place, the nation’s largest convention center, and numerous others. Global Spectrum, which manages numerous facilities, was chosen last December to manage the Atlantic City Convention Center and Boardwalk Hall.

The PCCAA posted the formal RFP document online at and scheduled a mandatory April 4 site tour of the facility for prospective bidders. The deadline for submitting responses is May 3.
