NSSF Names Melissa Schilling Director of Exhibitions, Conferences

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

Newtown, CT – The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) went in-house to find its new event director to help run the SHOT Show.

Melissa Schilling was promoted to director, exhibitions & conferences, replacing Deidre Cauley, who left the association for another opportunity. Schilling joined the NSSF in 2003 and was most recently director of recruitment and retention where she oversaw various member programs, such as the First Shots introduction to firearms.

“Melissa has a proven track record of managing for results,” said Chris Dolnack, senior vice president and chief marketing officer. “She has a remarkable ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.”

Schilling will report to Dolnack. Show operations are run by ConvExx.

This year’s SHOT Show in Las Vegas drew about 64,000 attendees, the second largest crowd in show history. Exhibit space topped 640,000 net square feet (nsf). The most recent Trade Show Executive Gold 100 ranked the 2013 SHOT Show at No. 19 with 628,675 nsf.
