A Future-Ready Meetings Campus

For trade show organizers, success starts with the right infrastructure, and New Orleans is built to deliver.

The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is undergoing a transformative $763 million modernization, reinforcing its position as one of the nation’s premier convention and trade show facilities. As one of the largest convention centers in the U.S., the facility offers the space, flexibility, and operational excellence required to host large-scale exhibitions and citywide conventions.

Located within a compact, highly walkable downtown, the Convention Center is supported by 26,000+ hotel rooms within 2.5 miles, allowing exhibitors and attendees to move efficiently between hotels, the Convention Center, off-site events and the authentic culture of New Orleans just steps away.

Designed for Large-Scale Meetings

The upgrades are already delivering tangible benefits for show organizers and attendees. Completed enhancements include the Pedestrian Park along Convention Center Boulevard, creating a versatile outdoor environment for networking events, activations and attendee engagement. A Transportation Center streamlines arrivals and departures, improving traffic flow and access for attendees and exhibitors alike.

Inside the building, upgrades include renovated restrooms, enhanced exhibit hall LED lighting and advanced technology infrastructure supported by digital signage, creating a more seamless and modern event environment.

Ongoing interior renovations will further elevate the experience with upgraded meeting rooms, refreshed public spaces, improved finishes, enhanced wayfinding and continued investments in connectivity and operational infrastructure to support today’s technology-driven events.

Sustainability at Scale

Sustainability continues to influence site selection for major exhibitions and conventions.

The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center recently earned its second LEED Gold certification under LEED v4.1 O+M, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable operations and environmental responsibility. Energy-efficient lighting, improved resource management and environmentally conscious campus enhancements help support organizers with ESG priorities and sustainability goals.

Expanding the Convention Campus

The Convention Center campus continues to grow to meet future demand. The planned 1,000-room Omni New Orleans Convention Center Hotel will add critical headquarters hotel inventory and strengthen the city’s ability to accommodate major citywide events and large room blocks.

Adjacent to the Convention Center, the future River District will create a vibrant mixed-use neighborhood featuring restaurants, entertainment, green space and retail, enhancing the attendee experience and creating new opportunities for off-site programming and sponsor activations.

Beyond the Show Floor

While infrastructure matters, attendee experience drives return attendance, and New Orleans delivers experiences few destinations can replicate.

In New Orleans, the city itself becomes part of the event. From second line parades that move attendees between venues to world-renowned cuisine, live music and authentic cultural experiences, New Orleans helps organizers create memorable moments beyond the show floor.

Built to Deliver

New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans & Company, hotel partners and the hospitality community work together with a “New Orleans First” mindset to deliver coordinated, seamless event execution.

For trade show executives seeking a destination with the infrastructure to perform and the culture to differentiate, New Orleans offers both.
