San Francisco, CA – Mike Cooke will step down as CEO of dmg world media this Fall and leave the company altogether at the end of the year.
Cooke’s last day as CEO will be September 30 and he will leave dmg on December 31. A replacement was not immediately named, although dmg also announced June 1 that Suresh Kavan had been appointed chairman of the company.
Cooke, who joined dmg in 1988, said the company was in the home stretch of implementation of a new strategic plan that has shifted the company away from consumer-oriented shows and focused on events for industry trade audiences. “We have essentially reshaped the company over the past 18 months,” Cooke said. “My work here is largely finished.”
Kavan, who is also CEO of dmg information, fills the position vacated by Martin Morgan, the CEO of dmg parent company Daily Mail & General Trust.
