ATLANTA – Messe Frankfurt has acquired the Clean Show from its association owners and will add it to its burgeoning portfolio of textile-care trade shows.
Riddle & Associates will remain as the show management firm for next year’s event, which will be held June 20-23, 2019 in New Orleans.
The acquisition announced Dec. 6 was the latest in the textile-care arena for Messe Frankfurt, which has been aggressively building its portfolio in recent months. The Germans earlier this year launched Middle East Cleaning Technology Week in Dubai and struck a partnership deal that merged its Texcare Asia with the China Laundry Expo.
“With the Clean Show, we have purchased America’s biggest trade fair for textile care and have gained another module for our worldwide network of events for the textile-care sector,” Messe Frankfurt President and CEO Wolfgang Marzin said in the announcement. “We now hold trade fairs in all major economic regions and offer synergistic effects for both exhibitors and visitors.”
Further details of Messe Frankfurt’s plans for the show were not immediately available, but it will become part of a portfolio anchored by Texcare International, a quadrennial show held in Frankfurt. The 2016 show featured around 15,700 attendees and 319 exhibitors.
The biennial Clean Show, officially known as the World Educational Conference for Laundering and Dry Cleaning, covered 221,106 nsf of exhibit space at the 2017 show in Las Vegas along with 481 exhibiting companies and 12,563 attendees. The performance landed the Clean Show at No. 87 on the most-recent Trade Show Executive (TSE) Gold 100 and in all three metric categories of the TSE Fastest 50.
The show launched in 1977 by a partnership of five associations in the textile-care industry, which will remain involved in the planning of future exhibitions.
