Medical Meeting Leader Johnnie White is Fastest 50 Power Lunch Guest

TSE STAFF

Oceanside, CA – Johnnie White, immediate past chairman of PCMA, and executive director of the Center for Education at the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF), will be the featured guest in the Leaders & Legends Power Lunch session at the Trade Show Executive (TSE) Fastest 50.

The Fastest 50 Awards & Summit takes place at the Hyatt Regency Chicago on May 20-22. The event will honor the fastest-growing trade shows in the U.S. and those leaders who don’t know the meaning of the words “sluggish growth.”

White will have a fireside chat with host Darrell Denny, senior vice president of business development for Emerald Expositions, and the Fastest 50 audience, in the lively lunch-hour interview and discussion on surviving and thriving in challenging times.

Denny will be the 2014 guest host of Power Lunch at the Fastest 50, stepping into the red socks and big shoes of longtime host and TSE columnist Bob Dallmeyer, who passed away in February after more than 50 years in the trade show industry.  TSE award-winning Editor-at-Large Danica Tormohlen will write the monthly Power Lunch column.  TSE will stage a tribute to Bob at the Fastest 50 to honor his decades of accomplishments in the trade show industry and his mentoring of thousands of professionals – as well as recognize the personal side of Bob and the warmth of his friendship.

Johnnie White will be one of the Fastest 50’s most intriguing Power Lunch guests. The fast pace of growth in the events under his leadership is matched only by a meteoric rise in his career.

The portfolio of events White produces at the Cardiovascular Research Foundation is led by the annual Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics symposium, which attracts an attendance of 12,000 and is the largest educational meeting in the world focused on interventional heart medicine. He manages more than 40 other educational programs and oversees five departments.

White joined the CRF in 2006 after a stint at The Endocrine Society, where he was director of meetings and CME services. In the same year, he was president of the PCMA Capital chapter and a member of the planning committee for the association’s national convention. Johnnie served as the 2011 secretary/treasurer for PCMA and moved up the ladder to become 2013 chair of the board of PCMA, which comprises 6,000 members.

The Fastest 50 Summit promises to deliver a wealth of great information and ideas for show managers who have earned top positions in their companies and associations. The day begins with keynote speaker Amber MacArthur, author and leading authority on the use of social media and digital marketing in the 21st Century business world.

Another session, Fast Talk, features five industry leaders, sharing creative, offbeat or simple ideas that led to faster growth and better ways of running their show.

What the Heck is Happening in Tech will take a fresh look at new technology, new ideas,  and new passages into what’s next for the trade show industry.

The fast-paced schedule concludes in the afternoon and gives way to the main event of the Fastest 50, the annual banquet and awards presentation.

Trade Show Executive and its stellar roster of sponsors, including title sponsor Choose Chicago, will also provide ample opportunities for networking and socializing on what promises to be one of those classic Spring weeks in the city that is second to none.
