Chicago, IL – If the way to an attendee’s heart is through his/her stomach, McCormick Place will soon be playing Cupid with a new gourmet dining complex. The Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA) board awarded a 10-year contract to Chicago Restaurant Partners (CRP) to manage and expand food service at McCormick Place beginning September 1. CRP is a three-company venture with Chicago restaurateur Phil Stefani, Airport Restaurant Management Inc. and Levy Restaurants, the nationwide company that holds the current contract expiring August 31.
CRP wants to create a 35,000 square foot dining and entertainment complex featuring some of Chicago’s famed upscale restaurants for business lunches as well as other dining establishments for attendees in a hurry. If approved by the MPEA board, the new attraction will be located near the front of South Hall adjacent to the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place and will resemble the Faneuil Hall Market Place in Boston.
