Cleveland, OH – Marketplace Events has acquired two Canadian home shows from the Manitoba Home Builders’ Association (MHBA).
The Kitchen, Bath & Renovation Show and the Home Expressions Home and Garden Show both take place annually during the Winter months at the RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg. The MHBA’s Show manager, Jan Currier, will continue to run the events in conjunction with Marketplace Events.
Tom Baugh, CEO of Marketplace Events, said the expansion of the RBC Convention Centre opened up new possibilities for significant growth of the two home shows. The center will expand to 135,000 square feet of prime space by March. “We think this is a smart acquisition for both the short and long term based on the strong consumer show history of the Winnipeg market and the dramatic expansion of the RBC Convention Centre.”
The MHBA said more than 20,000 customers attended this year’s Home Expressions show.
Marketplace Events has been rapidly expanding its portfolio of home shows in the U.S. and Canada. It acquired seven such events last year and currently organizes 29 U.S. shows and 13 in Canada.
