After six long years when not a single trade show was held in Iraq, the Baghdad Business-to-Business Trade Show & Conference opened February 15-17 to an appreciative audience of large multi-national companies and budding entrepreneurs. Armed conflict may have been raging in other parts of the city, but the show went on amidst high security. The success of the event let the world know that Iraq is open for business. It also generated over $300 million in sales and an estimated 2,000 jobs. U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Patrick Driscoll was one of the officials who toured the show, and afterwards, gave Trade Show Executive an exclusive live interview via satellite from Baghdad.
