Jupitermedia Buys Out Golden Group Show Assets

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

New York, NY  — Jupitermedia Corporation is now the full owner of the ISPCON and INBOX trade shows after acquiring the outstanding interests in the internet industry events from The Golden Group I, Inc.  Golden Group had owned 50.1 percent of the two annual ISPCON shows and 100 percent of INBOX, which comprised its entire events portfolio.

Golden Group founder Jon Price will join Jupitermedia as general manager of the Events Division while his staff will also become Jupitermedia employees. Financial terms of the transaction were not announced; however Jupitermedia chairman and CEO Alan Meckler said the addition of Golden Group’s staff would help his company develop future trade shows.

INBOX, launched in 2004, focuses on e-mail technology while IPSCON has been in existence since 1977 and has become the largest trade show in North America for the Internet Service Provider (ISP) industry. ISPCON Spring 2007 takes place in Orlando May 23-25 while ISPCON Fall 2007 is slated for Oct. 16-18 in San Jose.

Jupitermedia also produces the BITA event in Boston and Web Video Summit in San Jose.
