CHICAGO — Julie Kagy, Director of Operations, will take the helm of the Exhibition Services & Contractors Association (ESCA), as Executive Director, effective Jan. 1, 2024. Kagy will succeed longtime industry veteran Larry Arnaudet in the role following his retirement at the end of 2023.

“In this role, I am honored to lead this organization and to be trusted with ushering ESCA into its next chapter,” Kagy said. “I’m eager to work collaboratively with our board, staff and members to shape the future of the trade show industry.”

In the role of Executive Director, Kagy will focus on key initiatives for the association, including industry advocacy, member services, industry security through the ESCA badge and enhancing the organization’s official educational programming. She has served as ESCA’s Director of Operations since 2015 and has overseen program enhancements and implemented significant improvements during her tenure.

“Julie has already shown remarkable acumen in her tenure with ESCA,” Damon Ross, Senior Group Vice President at CORT Events and current ESCA President, said. “Her unique blend of operational know-how and industry foresight perfectly positions her to guide us into an era of new opportunities.”

Kagy’s accession to the role will follow Arnaudet’s retirement at the end of 2023. With more than 50 years in the events and conventions industry, Arnaudet enjoyed an illustrious career, working for powerhouse general service contractors, associations and establishing The Arnaudet Group, LLC.

“Handing the reins to Julie Kagy isn’t just a changing of the guard; it’s a passing of the torch to someone eminently capable and deeply committed to our association and industry. I’m confident she will uphold and advance the values that have made ESCA what it is today,” Arnaudet said.

ESCA will be celebrating and honoring Arnaudet on Dec. 4, 2023, at the House of Blues in Dallas during the International Association of Exhibitions & Events’ (IAEE) Expo! Expo!.
