John Ecke Moves from UBM Tech to Penton’s Ag Group

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

New York, NY – Penton hired former UBM Tech vice president John Ecke as vice president, digital products, for its Agriculture Group.

Ecke will remain in New York City and be in charge of digital sales and product development for the group. The Agriculture Group includes The Farm Progress Show and three regional farm shows as well as The Farm Press and other digital brands. “John’s digital experience will be valuable as we develop even more digitally focused solutions in the agriculture sector,” said Group President Dan Bagan.

Ecke spent 18 years with UBM Tech. He was most recently based in New York as vice president, brand and product director. He was responsible for all of the company’s tech media, including the InformationWeek brand. UBM Tech halted publication of its print titles in 2013 and laid off several employees in a move to focus on events and digital brands.
