CHICAGO — ISC East 2024, produced by RX and its premier sponsor the Security Industry Association (SIA) and in partnership with the ASIS NYC Chapter, brought together the security and public safety industry for a premier event in the Northeast.

The show reported nearly 6,000 attendees this year, representing another display of year-over-year growth, and the show floor at the Javits Center showcased more than 200 exhibitors across 31,000 square feet.

ISC East also reported 40% growth in its participation in the SIA Education@ISC East program. For this year’s program, the ISC team worked with its newly formed SIA Education@ISC Advisory Board, a team of industry experts that provided critical guidance on new trends and relevant technologies to best curate the 2024 education. The program itself doubled in size from 2023, increasing the number of sessions to more than 70 featuring 150-plus speakers.

“At ISC Security Events, we know that trends and solutions in safety and security are constantly evolving, so we ensure that our education and training programs are as up to date as possible year after year,” Mary Beth Shaughnessy, Event Vice President, ISC Security Events, at RX, said. “The SIA Education@ISC sessions were also directed by top thought leaders from across the industry, including those from CISA, Intel, OpenAI, Google, JPMorganChase, and more. Additionally, SIA Education@ISC East sessions qualify for continuing education and professional development certificates, so attendees can get credit for their time and bring new skills to the workplace.”

ISC East reported nearly 6,000 attendees this year.

New and Improved

This year’s show also marked some enhancements and new areas of the show floor to engage attendees.

“Along with the revamped mainstage area at The Bridge, the ISC East team was excited to bring new ideas and activations to life this year at the Javits Center. The SIA New Products and Solutions (NPS) Awards are a big attraction at ISC West, so we wanted to transport this excitement to ISC East for the first time and create a brand-new, dedicated NPS area right on the show floor. Here, NPS participants from ISC West were able to showcase their latest solutions and attract new buyers eager to discover what’s next and exciting in the industry,” Shaughnessy said.

Another new part of ISC East was the Critical Infrastructure Pavilion, where exhibitors displayed how critical infrastructure impacts different industries like energy, transportation and communication and how to protect the services from intruders, cyber-attacks and other threats.

“New York City is a hub for safety, security, and especially critical infrastructure,” Shaughnessy said. “With this in mind, we wanted to bring a greater emphasis to our East Coast show. Critical infrastructure impacts many of the systems we engage with daily, including transportation, energy, and communications. Through the new Critical Infrastructure Pavilion, we sought to highlight how to protect these essential services from modern-day threats like cyber-attacks, intruders, and other unpredictable challenges. The products housed in this area of the show floor provided insight into the solutions that help secure the fundamental systems that support our lives every day. Attendees were eager to engage with this new focus, especially through catered SIA Education@ISC East sessions like A Deep Dive into OT Cybersecurity – Securing the World’s Critical Infrastructure and Keeping the Skies of NYC Safe: Critical Infrastructure Sites Collaborate with NYPD.”

ISC East is regional focused, encompassing the Tri-State Area, Greater Northeast and Southeast Corridor.

Delivering a Regional Event

ISC East and ISC West, which recently took home the TSE Trade Show of the Year in 2023 Grand Award at the Gold 100 Awards & Summit held in September this year, have different audiences to serve. ISC East is regional focused, encompassing the Tri-State Area, Greater Northeast and Southeast Corridor.

“Ninety percent of ISC East attendees do not attend ISC West, so we aim to offer a more hyper-local and intimate environment to explore the latest products and solutions, conduct business with new and existing vendors, network with peers, and access top-tier education sessions led by local industry leaders on the region’s most relevant topics,” Shaughnessy said. “We also ensure that the show recognizes people making a difference in the immediate community. This year, in partnership with the ASIS NYC Chapter, we honored Frank Siller, Chairman and CEO of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, for the work he’s done over the past two decades to provide mortgage-free and specially adapted smart homes for injured veterans and first responders – especially those affected by 9/11. While ISC West has a broader international draw, we recommend the Las Vegas show to our ISC East attendees as well to expand their security horizons and take their industry knowledge to the next level on a larger stage.”

Future Dates

ISC East 2025 will take place Nov. 18-20 at the Javits Center, and ISC West is set to take place March 31-April 4 at the Venetian Expo in Las Vegas.

“Year after year, we strive to provide ISC East attendees and exhibitors with the best experience possible. To do so, we want to ensure that show programming matches their needs and interests. Like the introduction of the Critical Infrastructure Pavilion, the ISC East team will continue to focus on the most relevant trends and topics and highlight local specialties that hit home for our specific audience,” Shaughnessy said. “Plus, ISC Security Events as a whole is working to make the industry more welcoming and supportive for underrepresented groups, including women and young professionals. While ISC East made large strides this year in hosting programming on how to attract, retain, and uplift these groups, the show looks forward to presenting these updated offerings on an annual basis. All in all, ISC East is always working to feature additional security products and solutions, enhance our education and special events, creating value for both exhibitors and attendees alike.”
