International Beauty Show NY Looking Good After 100 Years

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

New York – The 100th edition of International Beauty Show New York (IBS) this Spring promises to be another record performance for Questex with more than 65,000 attendees expected.

The 2016 show at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center drew a show record 65,200 attendees, and a similar crowd is projected when IBS reconvenes for the 100th time on March 12-14 along with the co-located International Esthetics, Cosmetics & Spa Conference (IECSC).

“IBS and IECSC New York have again demonstrated that the beauty industry is flourishing,” said Liza Wylie, Questex Vice President – Beauty, Spa & Wellness Events. “The continued success of both shows proves that the beauty, spa and wellness industries are prospering.”

The ticketed event attracts large crowds of salon owners, barbers and other beauty professionals to not only peruse the latest hair, skin and nails products on display from around 500 exhibitors, but also take advantage of 150 classes and product demonstrations. This year’s exhibit space was projected to be about the same as the 2016 total of 97,540 net square feet.

The centennial show this Spring will be highlighted by a commemorative opening-night birthday party at the Attic Rooftop in Midtown and this year’s Main Stage will include a montage of renowned artists representing ten decades of beauty. Ted Gibson, C. Charlie Price, Martin Parsons, and other notables will dazzle audience members with their depictions of 100 years of beauty.
