InfoComm CEO Randy Lemke to Retire

DANICA TORMOHLEN, EDITOR-AT-LARGE

Fairfax, VA – Randy Lemke, Ph.D., executive director and CEO of InfoComm International since 2000 and producer of one of the nation’s largest and most influential shows, plans to retire in December 2012. “InfoComm International has enjoyed tremendous growth under Randy’s leadership, quadrupling revenue and expanding our trade show presence to 10 shows worldwide,” said Jim Ford, past president of the board. An executive search firm will be retained in March to begin the search for Lemke’s successor.

The association produces InfoComm International, which ranked #28 in the 2011 edition of Trade Show Executive’s Gold 100 directory of the largest shows. The 2010 show spanned 477,500 net square feet of exhibit space and drew 32,002 attendees.

Lemke joined InfoComm International in 1996 as vice president of education. Lemke oversaw an extensive international expansion, launching audiovisual exhibitions, events and education around the world, including in Europe, Asia, The Middle East, Australia and Latin America. Lemke holds various board positions and has been the chairman of Integrated Systems Events, LLC, a joint venture European trade show company, and InfoComm Asia PTE, Ltd., a joint venture company in Singapore operating InfoComm’s Asian trade shows.   “His leadership has taken us from being primarily a dealer trade association to a global industry association for the entire AV value chain.”
Tony Warner, president-elect, will head up the search committee.
