IMEX America 2021 Is a Go

Andrea Doyle — Executive Editor
IMEX

HOVE, UK  –  IMEX America 2021 is confirmed. Usually, IMEX brings the global meetings industry together in one place at one time, twice a year. But 2020 was no usual year. Both IMEX Frankfurt and IMEX America were canceled with the hope that 2021 would see an early recovery of the industry, and this year’s Frankfurt show could happen. Due to the surge of the virus, for the second year in a row, the Frankfurt gathering had to be canceled.

IMEX America, however, will take place November 9 – 11 in its new Las Vegas home:  Mandalay Bay. November also marks the 10th edition of this important show, providing the trade show industry with yet another reason to celebrate getting back to business.

“We are pleased to see the rollout of the vaccination programs going so well and Las Vegas continuing to open to larger groups,” said Carina Bauer, CEO, IMEX Group. “We are confident that by November, we will be able to put on a successful IMEX America, and we know that our buyers, exhibitors and partners are really looking forward to being together again.”

Bauer cites the successful COVID-19 vaccine roll-out, where most adults in the USA and Europe will be vaccinated by the fall, as the single most important factor enabling them to predict a much brighter Q3 and Q4 than last year. “This confidence is underpinned by predictions for travel to continue to open up and government roadmaps showing the continued opening up of cities and venues,” she added.

When asked about what she is most looking forward to with respect to IMEX America, Bauer is quick to say, “Simply having the community back together. There will be nothing sweeter than seeing our friends and colleagues again.”
