LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The International Association of Exhibitions and Events’ (IAEE) annual Expo! Expo!, the trade show industry’s “show for shows,” will be held at the Kentucky International Convention Center Dec. 14-15, with the Omni Louisville Hotel serving as the headquarters hotel.

New this year, Education Day will take place on Dec. 13, the day before the event rather than on the last day, as it was in previous years. Session topics include Grow Your Show; Content Creation, which will focus on the expansion of content for digital media; Bridging Relationships, which will emphasize growing partnerships; and Game Plan Moves, which will focus on strategic and operational design of trade shows. Education sessions are available for full meeting attendees only.

Networking will be a focus for Expo! Expo! both on and off the show floor, including an opening reception at Churchill Downs, the home of the Kentucky Derby. Other special events include a Chapter Leaders Forum, Center for Exhibition Industry Research Specialty Session, Executive Breakfast Specialty Session for C-Suite Executives, MATSO Content and Cocktails Specialty Session for MATSO organizers, YP Experience Specialty Session for Young Professionals and WLF Experience Specialty Session for Women Professionals.

The Opening General Session on Dec. 14 will feature Lauren Holiday, a former NCAA soccer standout, U.S. Women’s soccer team member and three-time Olympic medalist, as the keynote speaker. Despite all of her success on the field, Holiday has had to overcome personal obstacles off the field, and she will speak of the importance of purpose and resilience.

The 2022 Expo! Expo! also marks the 12th year of Humanity Rocks concert, sponsored by GES, and proceeds from the event will benefit The Backside Learning Center, a nonprofit organization that is building community and enriching the lives of workers at Churchill Downs, and their families. Humanity Rocks will take place on Dec. 14 at Tavern on Fourth Street Live. Attendees are also able to take part in the Gift of Service activation, which will begin in the education area on Dec. 13 and move to the show floor in the following days.

A variety of CEM courses for those working toward certification will be offered, and the CEM Class of 2022 will be recognized on the stage with the industry’s mark of distinction on Dec. 14.

“We are excited to finally have our signature event in Louisville this December,” IAEE President and CEO David DuBois, CMP-F, CAE, FASAE, CTA, said. “The events industry is resilient and strong. Our attendee and exhibitor numbers are on track to bring a vibrant marketplace and meeting to the ecosystem.”
