Hyve Group Enters Legal Events Space with Acquisition of LegalTechTalk

LONDON — Hyve Group is entering the legal events space with its acquisition of LegalTechTalk, a London-based company that organizes industry shows for professionals from law firms, corporate legal departments and technology companies.

According to Hyve CEO Mark Shashoua, the groundwork for the acquisition was laid during the very first LegalTechTalk event, where founders Bradley Collins and Mikkel Jensen made a huge first impression.

“I met Bradley and Mikkel after the launch of their first show in 2024. From there, we spent more time with them, including inviting them to visit some of our events and sharing ideas on how to develop LegalTechTalk,” said Shashoua. “We’ve been extremely impressed with what they have built.”

LegalTechTalk exemplifies a winning formula that Hyve looks at when considering acquisitions. For Shashoua, it starts with the sector, and whether or not it’s experiencing growth and disruption. Then, he considers if an event has captured the attention of stakeholders, and the extent to which it can attract leaders in its industry.

“The key is whether the event itself has the right ratio of ‘gold dust’ — key buyers to vendors. Also, does the event have the weight to bring in the ‘stardust,’ which are luminaries of that sector, to speak?” Shashoua explained. “LegalTechTalk has all of that. It’s a market-leading brand in a sector being transformed by AI, led by exceptional founders and with significant room for international growth.”

Although the legal industry is being significantly disrupted by AI, Shashoua says that LegalTechTalk itself isn’t going to experience an upheaval as it becomes part of the Hyve umbrella.

“The essence of LegalTechTalk won’t change, because that’s exactly what we’ve invested in. Bradley, Mikkel and the team have built something genuinely special,” Shashoua said. “Our role is to preserve what customers already value while bringing Hyve’s experience, investment and capabilities to help the event grow sustainably and deliver even greater ROI for attendees and partners.”

New Show Launch in the Works

To help increase the return on investment for the LegalTechTalk community, the event will make its first appearance in the U.S. in Miami on Dec. 13-15, 2027. There has already been a strong response from the legal industry, with 55 founding launch partners and 72 speakers — which represent the legal, technology and professional services ecosystem — already confirmed to be part of the inaugural LegalTechTalk USA show.

During the event, attendees will gain access to insights, technologies and strategies to improve their legal teams’ operations and achieve the best outcomes. Also, there will be curated networking experiences that allow decision-makers, innovators and investors to schedule strategic meetings that build consequential relationships.

All of this, says Shashoua, will be amplified thanks to Hyve’s backing.

“Ultimately, our job is to help customers get even more value from LegalTechTalk,” Shashoua said. “We’ll invest behind the experience, focusing on attracting more of the right buyers. We’ll create more opportunities for customers to do business through our tech-enabled meetings and peer-to-peer networking. We’ll continue raising the bar for what attendees and exhibitors can expect from the event.”
