Greg Topalian Leaves ReedPOP for New Venture

TSE STAFF

Norwalk, CT –  Greg Topalian, senior vice president of ReedPOP, is parting ways with Reed Exhibitions tomorrow, August 8th.

Although he would not disclose his future plans, he did tell Trade Show Executive that he is starting a new venture that will focus on fan and consumer launches and acquisitions.

Topalian has been in the thick of Reed’s efforts to capitalize on the market for enthusiast events as the head of the ReedPOP division since its creation in 2009. Topalian has led the launch of New York Comic Con and brought Penny Arcade Expo into the Reed portfolio and rechristened it PAX Expo.

Under Topalian, ReedPOP also expanded its portfolio to 15 events, including the NY Anime Festival and Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo. With events in Germany, Singapore and Australia, Reed is the largest organizer of pop culture events in the world.

Topalian was with Reed for more than 13 years. His replacement was not immediately named. Global Vice President Lance Fensterman, who also was a key figure in the launch of ReedPOP, remains in charge of day-to-day operations.
