Greg Farrar Joins Digital Scout

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

New York, NY – Greg Farrar, who announced in January that he would step down as president of Nielsen Business Media in the Spring, was named CEO of Digital Scout. The new consulting firm will help B-to-B media companies, particularly trade show organizers, with their digital strategies.

Farrar had been part of the trade show industry since 1987 and rose through the ranks of various companies to become president of VNU Expositions, which later became part of Nielsen. Farrar was appointed chief operating officer of Nielsen Business Media in 2006 and president a year later. His departure capped a 23-year career with the company. He was a member of the Society of Independent Show Organizers and served on the board of directors of American Business Media.

Nielsen embarked on a reorganization of its trade show operations earlier this year. The reorganization created the Nielsen Expositions division led by Joe Randall and David Loechner, both senior vice presidents who report to CFO Brian West.
