Dallas — Event planners and exhibitors often have been stymied when faced with integrating technologies on a show floor or making a presentation. To address that issue, trade show service provider Freeman has introduced Fuzion™ by Freeman, a system that strives to provide a common language that will enable digital integration between various platforms more easily.
“As more technology companies focus on the event industry, it has become more difficult for event planners to use their own (systems) to talk to other systems,” said Richard Maranville, Executive Vice President and Chief Digital Officer for Freeman.
Using Fuzion, Maranville said organizers will be able to connect registration, mobile apps and other systems seamlessly, eliminating frustration and time spent trying to set up systems at trade shows. “I’ve been at many meetings where (attendees) suggest that the tech folks need to talk to each other (to improve the situation). “Fuzion will do that,” he said.
The biggest benefit to Fuzion, now in the final testing stages, will be that organizers and attendees no longer will be “fighting technology” to get digital systems to work together. Maranville said the company is seeking early adopter candidates to learn the system and try it before the official launch, expected by summer 2018.
Overall, Fuzion is envisioned to increase attendee satisfaction, provide flexibility through better event technology adoption and save time and resources. The goal, the company said in a news release announcing Fuzion, is to develop common standards and a cohesive partner network that solves integration challenges for all association and corporate customers.
Maranville cautioned that Fuzion is a first step toward better system integration and said the company intends to work with its customers to help it evolve over time. “This isn’t a stand-alone product,” he said. “This is a multi-year journey for us … (technology integration) is a big problem in the industry, and it won’t be solved overnight,” he added.
