Twinsburg, OH – Shawn Pierce will step down at the end of April as president of the registration and housing division for Experient, a Maritz Travel Company. Pierce told Trade Show Executive (TSE) that he was moving on to a new project, but was keeping the details under wrap until a later date.
Experient said Michael Guerriero would take over Pierce’s duties in addition to his current event management responsibilities. Guerriero was also given the new title Division President, Experient.
Guerriero began his career with Experient in 1990 and was chief financial officer from 1995 to 2012 when he became division president of Event Management. “Michael’s experience has given him a deep understanding of the entire business,” said David Peckinpaugh, president of Maritz Travel Company. “His event management leadership role has provided a strong foundation for him to move Experient forward.”
Pierce, a former senior vice president of Hanley Wood Exhibitions (now Informa), joined Experient in 2010. He is active in the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), the Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO), and is on the board of the International Center for Exhibitor and Event Marketing (ICEEM). He also serves on Trade Show Executive’s Exposition Forecasting Board. In 2003, Pierce was awarded the Trade Show Executive Innovation Award, and in 2008, the Meeting TechOnline Rising Star Award.
As division president, he oversaw Experient’s registration, lead retrieval and housing tools for trade shows and other events. Experient is one of the leading registration firms in the industry. It serviced 27 of the largest trade shows held in 2013, according to TSE’s Gold 100. Client shows include MAGIC, the NAB Show, the Radiological Society of North America Scientific Assembly & Annual Meeting, PACK EXPO Las Vegas and ASD Las Vegas.
Experient was acquired by Maritz Travel in 2012.
