IOWA — Newly formed event promotional company Events Inc. announced its purchase of five well-known shows in Iowa: the Eastern Iowa Home and Landscaping Show, North Iowa Home and Landscaping Show, Cedar Rapids Sportshow, Eastern Iowa Sportshow, and Iowa Boat, RV and Vacation Show.
The Events Inc. model, led by Co-founders Michael Moore, Andy Miller and Lee Collins, offers complete event execution or support in specific areas that an owner needs, while creating and offering promotional services for events across the country. According to the company, Events Inc. is adding events to the brand and looking to purchase existing events and creating new events where there are holes in the market.
“We are planning and already implementing new strategies for social marketing and utilizing the targeting capabilities digital has to offer to increase reach and engagement while offering support for our vendors and bring them into the social media conversation,” Moore said. “We will be encouraging the vendors at these shows to include the events in all their social posts and advertising to generate exponential awareness and excitement for the events. With the partnerships of the vendors and sponsors, we hope to create a buzz that these shows will definitely deliver.”

The Iowa-based shows are added to the mix of shows already owned by Events Inc., including Monsters of Destruction and Arenacross Nationals. Events Inc. says they are working very closely with the shows’ previous owners to ensure a smooth transition in 2023.
“All these events have been around for more than 25 years with some vendors being there for most of those years,” Moore said. “I would say we have had several vendors excited to keep the shows on a growth pattern after the COVID downtrend. We also have some vendors who have expressed concern we might come in and change the shows too much. Our goal is to keep the traditional feel and look of the shows but bring in some larger sponsors and celebrities to generate larger audiences and more sales for all our vendors.”
Iowa Show Productions has been producing the Eastern Iowa Home and Landscaping Show since the early 1970s when the Waterloo Convention Center was built. Iowa Show Productions President John Bunge stated, “Exciting changes are coming for 2023 as Events Inc. will be taking over the Home Show, bringing some fresh legs and excitement to the show.”
Collins stated, “People need human interaction, it is our mission to keep entertaining and informing, keeping live events relevant in a world trying to turn digital.”
