ESCA Lifts the Vail on Summer Conference Agenda

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

Vail, Colo. – Industry professionals from around the U.S. will climb the mountain of knowledge this year when they convene in Vail, Colorado for the Exhibition Services & Contractors Association (ESCA) annual Summer Educational Conference.

The 2017 edition of the conference takes place June 25-28 in the Rocky Mountain sports Mecca at The Sebastian Vail and will again include a full schedule of networking events and educational sessions.

“ESCA’s Annual Summer Education Conference offers programs designed to give attendees the opportunity to learn the latest trends in our industry, network with their peers, make new contacts and have an impact on the future of the exhibition industry,” said Larry Arnaudet, Executive Director of ESCA, which represents the many service providers that help make trade shows tick.

The Summer Educational Conference has been taking shape and, while the speakers and sessions are still subject to revision, it promises an engaging and productive Summer getaway for show organizers and their key service partners. The topics on the table cover three separate tracks: Sales, Operations and Executive Management.

Sessions currently include panel discussions featuring industry executives and speakers focusing on how contractors can work as partners with show organizers and facility managers.

  • Security: What should show organizers expect of their suppliers
  • Facility trends: Looking beyond the walls of the convention center and into campuses and neighborhoods
  • Media relations: How to communicate with the press effectively
  • Young professionals: Attracting the best and the brightest
  • Client outcomes: A range of issues such as contract negotiations, budget cycles, online communications and ordering

Once again, ESCA has selected a once-in-a-lifetime venue that will be well worth the journey. The Sebastian is located in the heart of downtown Vail, one of the premier mountain ski resorts in the nation. And Vail doesn’t shut down when the snow melts. Summer is highlighted by sunshine and crisp air that highlights the amazing mountain views that surround the town. Plenty of exciting restaurants and shopping are within easy walking distance, and golfers can make the “rounds” of the area’s premier courses.

The Sebastian itself is a gem of a boutique hotel offering 84 rooms, 16 suites and 8,500 square feet of event space, including a ballroom. Opened in 2014, The Sebastian was voted the 12th best hotel in the U.S. in the 2015 World’s Best Awards reader survey by Travel + Leisure magazine.
