MIAMI — eMerge Americas, a premier global technology event, took place at the Miami Beach Convention Center March 27-28, bringing together thousands of attendees to see the latest tech innovations.

Trade Show Executive talked with Melissa Medina, Co-Founder, CEO and President of eMerge Americas, about this year’s show.

By the Numbers

This year, eMerge Americas spanned 31,000 net square feet at the Miami Beach Convention Center where more than 330 exhibitors displayed their products and solutions for about 20,000 attendees. The show’s programming included 126 sessions and more than 230 speakers.

Increases in International Participation

eMerge Americas 2025 boasted a global footprint with more than 60 countries represented.

“We’ve seen notable increases in participation from Latin America, Europe, and certain parts of Asia,” Medina said. “Our global outreach efforts are paying off, and more international startups and thought leaders are recognizing Miami and South Florida as a prime location for growth in tech. In particular, countries like Brazil, Colombia, Spain, Italy and Israel showed strong representation at the 2025 event, which speaks to the global appeal of eMerge Americas.”

Show Highlight: Startup Accelerator + Showcase

The eMerge Americas Startup Accelerator + Showcase is one of the brand’s flagship initiatives, and is designed to provide 100 early-stage companies with resources, mentorship and exposure to grow.

“Participation offers access to a seven-week virtual program, invaluable networking, investor meetings and visibility on a global stage, making it a truly transformative experience for emerging startups,” Medina said. “The overall impact on the larger show is significant as the culmination of the accelerator is at the global conference; this infuses the event with an incredible Startup Alley area, as well as innovation, fresh ideas, a diverse group of entrepreneurs and a ‘Shark Tank’ style ending on the eMerge Main Stage, creating a dynamic atmosphere that attracts investors, media, corporates and talent from around the world.”

According to eMerge, the companies that have participated in the eMerge Americas Accelerator + Showcase have raised nearly $2 billion.

Making Miami a Tech Hub

At the heart of eMerge Americas is the passion to position Miami as a global technology hub, and the organization is delivering on its mission. According to a 2024 report from the Washington Economics Group, eMerge Americas has generated $2.51 billion in economic impact to the South Florida area since its founding in 2014.

“Miami’s rise as a tech hub is the result of years of strategic efforts, both by the local community, many partners and the broader eMerge Americas team,” Medina said. “It’s about creating a supportive ecosystem where innovation can thrive. We’ve worked tirelessly to help cultivate and foster a place where entrepreneurs, investors and tech talent want to be. By launching and scaling eMerge Americas here, we’re showcasing Miami as a global tech center, with a forward-thinking community that attracts the best and brightest in the industry.”

To support the positioning further, eMerge also hosts and highlights other tech events throughout the year in South Florida.

“We’re very strategic about how we curate events throughout the year to complement and thread into our flagship show. We create year-round momentum without cannibalizing the main event,” Medina said. “Our other events build anticipation and engage our audience, keeping the energy high and creating opportunities for deeper, more targeted engagement for specific communities and industries within our network.”
