NEW YORK CITY — Emerald Holding Inc., announced the acquisition of Cocina Sabrosa Food & Beverage Trade Expo, strengthening the position of Emerald in the B2B food and beverage sector and marks its second acquisition in 2023.

The Cocina Sabrosa Food & Beverage Trade Expo is the only B2B event in the U.S. that is solely dedicated to the Latin food and beverage sector, and with Emerald acquiring the trade show it will expand. Cocina Sabrosa was formerly a regional event in Southern California, and its inaugural national debut is slated to take place Sept. 26-27, 2023, at the Irving Convention Center in Texas, making it the first U.S.-based national Latin food and beverage event.

The inaugural trade show will feature a conference program, educational opportunities, service demonstrations and professional training among other offerings serving restauranteurs, grocers, suppliers and entrepreneurs that attend.

“Emerald is thrilled to partner with the Latin food and beverage industry to create new opportunities and drive growth and progress for the many businesses and communities that this important ecosystem serves. Personally, I am also deeply honored to be part of such a vibrant, passionate and growing community,” Andrea Fletcher, Brand Leader – Cocina Sabrosa, said. “Emerald’s decision to acquire Cocina Sabrosa Food & Beverage Trade Expo was based on our research and analysis of this expanding and fast-growing business sector. The need for a trade expo and conference on a national scale w3as apparent, and the interest and support from the Latin food and beverage industry has been overwhelmingly positive from the very beginning.

“The advantages for Cocina Sabrosa are the enhancement and expansion of the event through Emerald’s leadership and resources in the event space, accompanied by the Abasto Media expertise within the Latin business segment.”

The acquisition falls in line with Emerald’s focus on high-growth business sectors, and strengthens its food and beverage portfolio, which includes the International Artisan Bakery Expo and SIAL America that is co-produced with Comexposium. The portfolio optimization strategy has been the drive behind recent acquisitions by Emerald including Lodestone Events and MJBiz.
